Where we come from
Outlook UAS was founded on Colorado's Front Range, built on more than two decades of aviation experience and a simple frustration: aerial data that leaves the site unfinished can return late, incomplete, and difficult to defend. The company was organized around finishing and checking the work in the field.
The mission
Give the Mountain West aerial data it can defend: captured, processed, completeness-checked on site, delivered quickly when scope allows, and supported for the life of the project.
Relationships over transactions
Recurring quantity cycles, quarterly programs, and season-long builds benefit from a stable method and a crew that knows the site. Clients speak with the crew that scopes and flies the work rather than re-explaining the project at every handoff.
Safety before schedule
Field operations are planned, briefed, insured, and documented under FAA Part 107 with OSHA-aware site conduct and disciplined ASPRS accuracy language. When safety and schedule disagree, safety controls the mission.

A helicopter pilot who moved into uncrewed systems early, Josh previously flew wildlife-census missions over western public lands as chief sUAS pilot for a rotorcraft operation serving federal land agencies. Before that, he built and taught the accredited UAS program at MSU Denver, Colorado's largest collegiate aviation training center.
The through-line is measured aerial data: RGB photogrammetry on high-precision GNSS and PPK control, flown to ASPRS discipline. He authored a working rotorcraft operation's aviation safety manual before founding this company on the same standard, designed the field-processing workflow Outlook UAS runs on, and still plans and flies the work himself.
Outlook has been flying commercial aerial mapping and running UAS training since July 2017.

We finish the data in the field.
Most operators ship raw data to a third-party cloud and wait. We process on-site, on our own software stack, because we built it. Capture, process, deliver, without leaving the site.
That changes what a client gets back. The crew that flew the site is the crew that validates the result, against control, before anyone leaves. Problems are caught on the ground, not discovered a week later in an email.

A converted cargo trailer with onboard compute rolls to the job. It turns a remote pad, quarry, or corridor into a processing site, so the field and the office are the same place.

The company model joins aviation planning, field processing, accuracy discipline, and a documented client handoff.
Airspace, authorizations, weather, site hazards, crew roles, and contingencies are resolved before launch. When a waiver is required, twilight or controlled airspace, it is held before wheels-up. Commercially insured, with certificates and mission documentation available for procurement.
The mobile processing unit aligns imagery and checks coverage, overlap, and control while the crew remains on site, with OSHA-aware conduct fitted to your safety program. A recoverable gap can be re-flown before it becomes a second trip.
Deliverables are described as produced to ASPRS, tested to ASPRS with independent surveyed checkpoints and documented RMSE, or, where offered, survey-quality work coordinated with a licensed PLS. These terms are not interchangeable.
Lifetime Data Support covers in-scope reprocessing, revisions, and re-delivery for the life of the project. Raw-imagery retention is stated separately because it is not the same as deliverable archiving.
