Three patterns shape the training.

Graduate research coded 166 U.S. Part 107 accident and incident reports from NASA ASRS and NTSB to the HFACS human-factors framework. The unsafe acts grouped into three patterns, each requiring a different training response.

Skill-based errors → practical proficiencySkill-based errors involve aircraft control, attention, workload, and recovery when conditions change. These are built through hands-on work and a simulator-to-field progression, not slides alone.
Decision-making errors → scenario trainingGo or no-go calls and in-the-moment judgment are rehearsed through scenarios with explicit decision points. A poor call should surface in a safe training setting rather than over a live site.
Known deviations → compliance cultureKnown deviations often involve rules an operator already understands. Training connects the reason behind the rule to daily practice so compliance is more than a one-time briefing.
