A day at Double Devils Corrals in Modoc County, California. The corral system sits in high sagebrush country in the north-east corner of the state. This job produced the heaviest clip count of any single day in the archive, cut down to one reel and a shorter presentation version. The client is a contract livestock-gathering operator and is not named.

Video at 4096 x 2160, 59.94 fps; stills at 5472 x 3078.
Flying was oblique and hand-flown around working stock rather than on a grid. The pilot in command kept the aircraft clear of the animals and the crew throughout.
Conditions: daylight VFR, low wind, good visibility (operator's record; the archive holds no weather log).

Cadence

One day on site, two days before a second California trap site was filmed nearby. Both fell inside a run of seven gathers for this operator.

Method boundary

This is aerial video and still photography for documentation and presentation. It is not mapping. The footage is not georeferenced beyond the aircraft's own position tags, nothing is measured from it, and no accuracy is claimed. Where a scaled site record was needed on these contracts, a separate mapping flight was flown. Anything requiring measured positions or professional responsibility is routed through a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.

How accuracy was held.

Produced to a documented RGB photogrammetry workflow.

Not applicable: no measurements were made and no map products were produced, so there is nothing to hold to an accuracy class and none is claimed. What was held instead was the flying. Operations near working livestock and crews were flown under Part 107 with the pilot in command keeping the aircraft clear of the stock and the personnel, and the gathers run at first light, so several sets were shot at ISO 400 to 6400 rather than slowing the shutter over moving animals.
