A 10-hectare farm property in Delta County, Colorado, an irrigated hayfield, a house with tree rows, an outdoor riding arena, and an equipment yard, mapped and photographed in a single morning. This is the archive's one project with a fully client-facing deliverable folder (orthomosaic, stills and video in one package). The client was the property owner.

Scope & deliverables.

Capture

  • Aircraft and sensor: DJI Phantom 4 Pro (FC6310, 1-inch 20 MP RGB, 8.8 mm), firmware v01.07.1641.
  • Date and window: 8 June 2019, 10:15–10:37 local (22 minutes on site).
  • Mapping set: 51 images at a median 117 m above takeoff (43 nadir), 5472 × 3648 and 4096 × 2160 frames. Image spacing in the processing log (19.7 m along track, 44.8 m between lines, 211 × 141 m footprint) works out to roughly 86% forward and 79% side overlap.
  • Photography set: 66 oblique stills at 24–117 m above takeoff, plus 24 raw 4K video clips.
  • Georeferencing: on-board geotags only, WGS 84 / UTM zone 13N. No ground control.
  • Conditions: daylight VFR, low wind, good visibility (operator's record).

Deliverables

  • Orthomosaic 21332 E Rd_mosaic.tif: GeoTIFF, 4-band RGBA, 3.86 cm/px, 8,669 × 10,767 px, 142 MB, EPSG:32613 (georeferencing embedded in the TIFF; no sidecar .tfw/.prj in the client folder).
  • DSM: GeoTIFF float32, 3.86 cm/px, 63 MB (in the processing tree, not the client folder).
  • Textured 3D mesh: OBJ + MTL + JPG texture, ≈365 MB (processing tree).
  • 47 edited stills (JPG) and 10 video clips (MP4, 4096 × 2160, 29.97 fps, 21 s to 3 min 20 s) in the client folder.
  • Pix4D quality report PDF (10 pages): 51 of 51 images calibrated (100%), 3.86 cm GSD, 10.2 ha / 25.2 acres. Processed 30 June 2019.

Method boundary

RGB photogrammetry georeferenced from the aircraft's geotags, no ground control. The orthomosaic and mesh are consistent within themselves and suitable for property overviews, marketing, planning sketches, relative measurements and visual records. They are not suitable for boundary determination, acreage certification, engineering design, or any product that carries professional responsibility; that work is routed through a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.

How accuracy was held.

Produced to a documented RGB photogrammetry workflow.

  • Single-block flight at a constant height, checked in the quality report: 100% of images calibrated, mean reprojection error 0.31 px (internal block fit only).
  • Geotag positioning was accepted as-is; no control points were placed or measured on this job.
  • Independent checkpoints: none. Produced to a documented RGB photogrammetry workflow; not tested to an ASPRS accuracy class.
