A wild horse gather in the Big Horn Basin west of Worland, Wyoming, filmed from the air across four days. The trap system sat in open badlands country: wings funnelling into a set of temporary panel pens, with stock trailers and the crew's trucks standing off to one side. The archive labels the trip a wild horse gather. The client is a contract livestock-gathering operator and is not named.

Capture

Four days on site. Fifteen aerial stills were made between 15 and 103 m above takeoff, alongside 24 raw clips; a few ground stills from a phone sit in the same set and are not counted here.

Flown with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro (FC6310, 1-inch 20 MP RGB, 8.8 mm lens), firmware v01.07.1641 – the same airframe used on every company flight in the archive. Video at 4096 × 2160 and 59.94 fps; stills at 5472 × 3078. Flying was oblique and hand-flown around working stock rather than on a grid, with the pilot in command keeping the aircraft clear of the animals and the crew throughout. Conditions were daylight VFR with low wind and good visibility, on the operator’s record; the archive holds no weather log.

Deliverables

Two edited 4K reels, 2 min 02 s and 1 min 53 s, with four edited stills and two technical imagery frames. Sixty files were delivered in total, as MP4 (H.264) and JPG with PNG frame exports. The raw clips and stills are archived alongside the edit.

Cadence

One trip, four days on site. It was the first of seven gathers filmed for this operator across twelve months.

Method boundary

This is aerial video and still photography for documentation and presentation. It is not mapping. The footage is not georeferenced beyond the aircraft's own position tags, nothing is measured from it, and no accuracy is claimed. Where a scaled site record was needed on these contracts, a separate mapping flight was flown. Anything requiring measured positions or professional responsibility is routed through a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.

How accuracy was held.

Produced to a documented RGB photogrammetry workflow.

Not applicable: no measurements were made and no map products were produced, so there is nothing to hold to an accuracy class and none is claimed. What was held instead was the flying. Operations near working livestock and crews were flown under Part 107 with the pilot in command keeping the aircraft clear of the stock and the personnel, and the gathers run at first light, so several sets were shot at ISO 400 to 6400 rather than slowing the shutter over moving animals.
